Travis Higginbotham Killed In Collision with 18-Wheeler Semi Truck

March 20, 2016 -- WILBARGER COUNTY, TX - Officials have released the name of the man who died in Sunday night's crash that happened on northbound Highway 287 at the Harrold Truck Stop.  DSP troopers said, Travis Lee Higginbotham, 40, of Merit Texas was the lone fatality in that accident.  The crash happened around 8:45 p.m., in Wilbarger County, right outside of Electra.  Texas Department of Public Safety Officials said an 18-wheeler, carrying a load of bees, was turning into the truck stop, from the southbound lanes of Highway 287.  That’s when a 2012 Chevy pickup truck was heading northbound and crashed into the side of the 18-wheeler, running under the trailer.  The man driving the white pickup was pronounced dead at the scene. No charges have been made at this time and the crash is under investigation.
