April Ranolls Of Orange Texas Died In Collision With Big Rig

March 15, 2015, Orange, Texas — A woman from Orange was killed early Monday morning after her vehicle collided with a big rig.

April Ranolls of Orange died Monday morning after her pickup truck was struck by a tractor truck and trailer exiting the Pilot truck stop on State Highway 62 in Orange. She was 39 years old.

 According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Ranolls was traveling south in the inside lane of State Highway 62 at approximately 6 a.m., Monday, in her 2014 Chevrolet pickup when a 1995 Freightliner semi-truck exited the Pilot truck stop and struck her truck as it attempted to turn left onto State Highway 62. Ranolls died at the scene.

Due to the extent of the collision, DPS officials closed State Highway 62 in both directions at the truck stop and directed motorists to alternate routes.

The driver of the tractor truck is Adam Dewling, a 45-year-old man from Florida. Dewling was reported to have not sustained any serious injuries was “visibly shaken from the incident,” according to reports.
