15 Year Old Killed by Semi-Truck On Parmer Lane in Austin, Texas

March 14, 2015, Austin, Texas -- A 15-year-old girl died at University Medical Center Brackenridge Thursday night after being involved in a car crash with a semi-truck.

Delia Jazmin Ramirez was pronounced dead at the hospital, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

Ramirez was the front passenger in a Nissan Altima that was northbound on the Texas 130 service road when the car was hit by a semi-truck driven by 38-year-old Nathan Bernard Frazier at about 8:11 p.m. Thursday, DPS said.

Frazier was driving the semi-truck westbound on Parmer Lane. He told authorities he had looked down at a GPS device when he drove through a blinking red light and hit the car carrying Ramirez, DPS said.

The driver of the Altima — a 37-year-old woman — and a 22-month-old boy were hurt in the crash, but their injuries were not life-threatening, DPS said. Frazier and a passenger in the semi-truck were treated as the scene and released, DPS said.
